Mr. Ram Lal Malhotra laid the foundation for the Kafila Group of industries by opening a small unit manufacturing steering and suspension parts. It was very far fetched to think that tiny unit one day emerge as a globally recognized brand.
Another manufacturing unit under the name of Kay Dee Industries was born under the leadership of Mr. P.R. Malhotra, who worked direly to sell their products under their own brand name.
With the growing trust formed in consumers and the products catching the eye of the market the brand KAFILA was finally introduced. Starting with one rented machine Kafila now boasts of 4 fully automatic plants equipped with state of the art technology. Kafila was amongst the first automotive manufacturing industries to adopt CNC's and SPM's.
With the ever increasing demands the group decided to setup an in-house facility for forging. A well establish forge shop with different capacities of Drop forge hammers, Friction screw presses were installed along with an in house facility for Die Making to manage new developments timely.
A sick unit under the name and style of MOON PAPER & MACHINERY Pvt. Ltd. was taken over. After, paying off all their liabilities, it was turned around and made into an extremely efficient Water pump assemblies and Repair kits facility. The group then entered into exports in a huge way and the credit goes to a highly enterprising and intelligent Mr. Anil Malhotra who looks after the marketing for India and abroad.
Another manufacturing facility was setup as Unit No. 2 of KAY DEE INDUSTRIES to cater the overwhelming response and demand for KAFILA brand products predominantly including universal joint crosses for all vehicles.
KAFILA FORGE LTD. was shifted to a new state of the art plant at Kundli for further expansion of forging capacities. At the helm of success KAFILA introduced yet another product line 'PROPELLER SHAFT COMPONENTS' which had an application in all Indian vehicles. With yet another milestone and a new product line Kafila started to get tremendous response from all over the country.
A new site is established for manufacturing front axles, drag links amongst other critical machined parts exclusively for new Holland Tractors and the Escorts Group.
Kafila sets yet another milestone by introducing a new marketing and sales policy by introducing company owned and controlled warehouses in 14 states of India and still going strong. The new policy has worked really well in regard to the market share of all the products currently being manufactured.
A new site of 15000 sq. feet is established inside Kay Dee Industries with state of the art MAZAK machines for making gear components exclusively for the international market.
With 30 warehouses pan india, We enter the list of the few indian companies to achieve a turn over of more than a 100 crores in the Indian after market
